Beacon – Medical Staff Leadership Program @ PHSA, BC
Challenge
In 2024, Straydog was approached by the leadership team at Medical and Academic Affairs with The Provincial Health Services Authority of British Columbia. The goal of this organization was to create a clear and simple point of entry and organization for common services that support medical staff across all organizations within PHSA through a new 24-month medical staff leadership program. First off, the organization needed a Name for this program that would effectively represent and communicate their mandate. Once the Name was developed, we would then be tasked with the development and design of their logo, visual identity as well as the design of their internal communications collateral.
Result
After a number of weeks of collaboration with the client, we decided on Beacon as the new name for the Leadership Program. This name accurately describes the PHSA’s vision and North Star Priorities to life while providing comprehensive and practical leadership training for current and future medical leaders. PHSA believes that medical staff are all leaders. They make critical decisions with patients and families, determine resource utilization in support of those decisions and are in constant pursuit oif better ways to help patients achieve their medical goals. In this way, the Program is a Beacon for best practices in finding, supporting and promoting the best leaders within PHSA.
Beacon Leadership Training is a name that conveys a strong sense of guidance, illumination, and leadership development.
The term “Beacon” signifies a guiding light, symbolizing direction and hope in leadership.
